Atlantic Coast Surf School

Atlantic Coast Surf School is based at Praia Azul, next to the Hotel Praia Azul restaurant, just north of Santa Cruz near Torres Vedras. The team has more than ten years of professional surf coaching and looks for the best spot each day anywhere from Santa Cruz to Peniche, across both beach breaks and point breaks.

Lessons and levels

Lessons last an hour and a half: single lessons, one-day courses with two lessons, five-day courses with one or two lessons a day, private courses, and long-term coaching for surfers who want to keep progressing. Beginners, intermediates and advanced surfers are all catered for, in small groups. Board, wetsuit (summer or winter weight) and insurance are included, with lifeguards on site.

Staying here

A surf camp with private, double or shared rooms and daily breakfast, self-catering apartments on the beach, some with an ocean-view pool, and a private villa. Trekking, barbecues and explore-and-surf packages fill the days off the water. Rental gear is also available to non-students.
